Mars Retrograde - Jan. 24th - April 14th
Mars the planet of energy turned retrograde on January 24, 2012. For every sign of the zodiac Mars represents action, energy, strength and courage. Wherever Mars is located in your chart will reveal what you are motivated to do and where you will put forth the most energy. A strong Mars gives a person self-confidence, independence and the motivation to move towards their goals. Mars is currently transiting through the sign of friendly Leo, another hot dry fiery planet. These 2 energies can cause things to get heated up. However, Mars retrograde changes the energy somewhat. It becomes more internalized. Retrograde time periods can be helpful, if we are in tune and open to working with the energy. During retrograde periods it is best to review, reassess and re-think. Where do you want to put forth your most energy? What is it that you are truly passionate about? Mars retrograde may have you asking yourself questions like these. I often say our “energy” is our personal gold. Without our energy, nothing would move forward. It is important to recognize that Mars is also the planet that represents anger and so we must be careful to use this energy wisely and cautiously. Mars retrograde must be careful to not become too self-critical and turn destructive inward. The best use of Mars during this period is introspection. Are we choosing to use our personal gold, our energy in the best and most productive way?
New Moon – Capricorn- January 23, 2012
The new moon falls at 8 degrees of Capricorn and in the nakshatra of Uttara Ashadha. This nakshatra gives insight and an excellent ability to relate to others. It is important to cultivate patience, but to also set your plan down and begin to move forward. Saturn rules the sign of Capricorn and this sign is one known to have a business plan, get organized and focused. Then move wisely and cautiously forward one step at a time.
January 1 – 2012
2012 begins with the Moon in the sign of Pisces, this brings imagination and creativity to the forefront. Nothing, at this moment in time can be considered as “to far out there”. Saturn is transiting through the sign of Libra, currently and will bring opportunities for partnering and partnerships. However, you should do your “due diligence” before reporting or agreeing. Saturn may ask you, over the course, just how committed are you to this relationship? Saturn’s nature is to test, delay, restrict and put obstacles in the way. Testing our commitment. Jupiter has given us the blessings of moving forward and is currently in the sign of Aries. Aries is the sign of beginnings and propels us into new areas, ideas, and inventiveness. This is a fertile and rich soil for entrepreneurs. Yes, time to put your thinking cap on. It is you, YOUR idea stands on the threshold.
Jupiter will gain speed throughout the month giving everyone the momentum and optimism they need to move forward. Mercury will station, on January 7th, 2012 at 5 degrees of Sagittarius, hesitating, for a moment, giving us time to think and prepare for the new adventure that lies ahead. Perhaps moving us forward in learning or teaching something we feel strongly about, the Universe is giving us direction. Are we willing to follow the message? Any messages of intuition, any ideas that come to you at this time, be sure to write them down and follow through. Mars, the planet of energy and “marching” forward will turn retrograde on January 24th moving backwards in degrees until April 13th. Mars is the planet of action, energy and for the signs of Aries and Scorpio, this could be a challenging, but useful time. More on Mars retrograde later in the month. For now, this time is good for moving ahead with your plans. Positive thoughts bring in higher vibrations to create the abundance and prosperity you wish for. Remember, thoughts lead to action and action leads to energy. Your thoughts are energetic, powerful and you are manifesting your life each and every moment, so be mindful to create exactly what you wish to bring forward. Create a transformational New Year for you and the World around you.
2012 is here…. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Jupiter goes Direct –Dec. 25, 2011
Jupiter, the Great Benefic goes direct today, Christmas Day. Jupiter is the planet most associated with optimism and positive outcomes. Jupiter has been retrograde since Aug. 30, 2011 and so we have felt the lack of Jupiter’s benevolent influence. When a benefic planet like Jupiter is retrograde it becomes more difficult for us to feel positive about our endeavors and about life in general. Jupiter is the planet that represents “joy” and is best known as the planet of luck, grace and fortune. Jupiter gives us many gifts, but perhaps today, Christmas Day 2011, this the best gift we can receive, is Jupiter’s outlook bringing us a more creative and positive outlook for the New Year ahead. Merry Christmas!

Dec. 24, 2011 – New Moon- Sagittarius – 8 degrees
The last New Moon of 2011 falls in the constellation of Sagittarius and in the nakshatra of “Mula”. Mula is also called the “root star” or original star. Although Mula is considered to be a very destructive nakshatra, it is also one of a spiritual orientation. This new moon is good for exploring and researching alternative or holistic therapies and for working with herbs.

Dec. 10, 2011 – Lunar Eclipse- Taurus
The final eclipse for 2011 falls in the constellation of Taurus at 23 degrees. Taurus is a fixed earth sign and concerned with accumulation. Rohini, the lunar mansion this eclipse also falls in was said to be the favorite wife of the moon, because of her beauty, grace and charm. Rohini is also called the “star of ascent” and can give a person influence and recognition. Eclipses usher in change, often shining a light on something that has gone unnoticed. This is a good time for creating and recognizing our potential.

Mercury Retrograde – Scorpio - Nov. 24th - Solar Eclipse – Scorpio - Nov. 25th
Mercury begins its final retrograde period for 2011 on Nov. 24th. Mercury is currently transiting through the sign of Scorpio. Mercury has rulership over all communication matters. While it has been transiting through the sign of Scorpio it has brought quite a bit of scandalous attention to people in high places of authority. It has also had the energy of Rahu, which brings its karmic influence of unpredictable events. Mercury retrograde periods are best used for review, revisiting and re-assessing past information. It’s possible we have missed an important piece of information that could benefit us. It is not a good time to sign contracts, or purchase electronics. Any written communications or agreements should be delayed until Mercury goes direct. In addition to Mercury’s retrograde, the Solar Eclipse falls at 7 degrees of Scorpio on Nov. 25, 2011. Eclipses are harbingers of change. They can bring to the surface something that has otherwise gone unnoticed for awhile. It is best to take a wait and see approach during this time. The lunar eclipse will follow on Dec. 10th in the opposite sign of Taurus. If you have planets in the signs of Scorpio/Taurus you could feel the effects of the eclipse. Mercury will go direct on Dec. 14, 2011.

Saturn transits Libra - November 15th 2011
Saturn made its transit into Libra today. For those who have Virgo planets this is a relief. Saturn is known as the “taskmaster” planet, which indicates that it is serious and focused type energy. Saturn is known to be a malefic planet and one that has nothing but time (also called Father Time) for us to learn the lessons he doles out. Saturn causes frustrations, delays and restrictions (only to name a few). Saturn wants accountability and responsibility holding our feet to the fire, so to speak. Saturn’s transit through Virgo has changed the way we may look at our own health and how we care for it. Depending on your chart and what house Saturn transited through, there is no doubt you have endured and learned from this energy. What will it teach us in Libra? Libra is a sign concerned with relationships. Saturn will look carefully at the components of all business partnerships and relationships. The symbol for Libra is the Scales and so Saturn will want to bring balance to this area of everyone’s life. During this transit we will see many partnerships undergo changes and many form solid and lasting relationships. Saturn functions best in Libra, where it is exalted and so is welcomed in this sign. Saturn will transit through Libra until Nov. 2, 2014.

Mars – Your Personal Gold
Mars, also called “kuja” is a hot red fiery planet notorious for causing anger, accidents, violence and impulsive behavior. Mars known as the “God of War” is associated with sharp, quick penetrating actions. Mars is ENERGY and we can see evidence of him daily. When you hear the fire engine, see the fireman, paramedics and police officers they are responding to the call of Mars. No day passes without evidence of this magnificent planet. Technically oriented and strategic in thinking, Mars is there in flash to assist us in these matters. Yes, he is argumentative (at times) and causes accidents. But where would we be without our energy? It is after all, what I call our “personal gold”. Your energy is your gold. How do we use our personal gold? Do we stop and think about it before we carelessly speak or take mis-guided action? Mars is powerful for good or bad. Where you are motivated is where Mars energy is in your life. Waiting for you to direct and focus it on your passion. Everyone has Mars energy operating in their life. Choosing how to use this gold is perhaps the most difficult challenge. Mars is currently transiting through the sign of Leo where it will continue to heat matters up. The opportunity of Mars transit is presenting us a chance to put into action, to focus on what we feel passionate about achieving in our lives.

Mars enters LEO- Oct. 31, 2011
Mars the planet of action, energy and passion has just moved into the sign of Leo. This is relief for those of you with planets in the sign of Cancer. In fact, it is relief for many of us because Mars has been troubling the home life and matters surrounding the home. Mars has just recently been transiting the sign of Cancer where it is debilitated, meaning it is not operating in its most positive form. It will be much more at home in the fiery sign of Leo, where it can show its positive energy. Get ready to see Mars demonstrate his courage, strength and independence. Mars is known as the “God of War”. In the body it rules over the blood, our life source. His nature is aggressive and impulsive. Mars is also known to cause accidents because of its impulsive nature. The sign of Leo is ruled by the Sun, another hot dry fiery planet, these energies combined…..you guessed it, really heat things up. But, where would we be without our energy? Where we put forth our energy and passion says a lot about who we are and who we want to become. Our energy is our “personal gold”. How are we choosing to use this precious energy? By the end of November Mars will be gaining in momentum and speed (yes, Mars likes to travel fast). Mars transit here can cause issues with police, fire and others in authority, i.e. bosses in particular. It is best to use Mars energy cautiously. Count to three before responding, take a deep breath. Use your personal gold wisely. Mars will grant you the energy to pursue and make great advancements during this time. Though Mars energy is impatient, it is a good time for directing this energy both physical and mental. If you can manage to harness this power, you indeed have met with the “pot of gold”. Mars will turn retrograde in January of 2012 until mid-April, remaining in the sign of Leo until June 22, 2012. In the meantime, it is TIME to connect with your PASSION in life!

Oct 26, 2011 – New Moon- Libra
The New Moon falls at 8 degrees in the constellation of Libra, a sign ruled by Venus. Libra is the sign most concerned with partners, both romantic and business partners.
Libra’s symbol is the scales and so there is a concern for balance and harmony. If your ascendant or rising sign is Libra you have an innate sense of balance. The nakshatra for this new moon is “Swati” . Swati people are self-controlled and have the powers of communication, along with disciplined energy.
New moons are a good time to journal your intentions. What are your desires?
What area of your life needs balance? This is a good time for socializing, connecting with others and sharing ideas.
Happy New Moon!

Vedic Astrology Workshop – Oct. 22, 2011

Venus transits into Libra – Oct. 5, 2011
Venus, planet of love has just moved into the constellation of Libra. Libra is the 7th sign of the natural zodiac and is concerned with balance, harmony and partnership. Venus rules over the sign of Libra. Venus in Libra can be described as “looking for love”. There is a heightened sense of beauty during this transit. We are aware by now the world is chaotic. That may just make this transit all the more important. Venus has rule over our happiness, when placed well in our chart it bestows money, comforts and a general ease of life. It is our ability to relate, how we wish to love and be loved. Now is a good time to enjoy socializing, art galleries, theatre and opera. And Venus likes to dress well, so yes, you may find all you are looking for and more in the shopping department. But Venus’s greatest importance is that it rules over love affairs and partners. If you are single, now is the time to be out and about; ( an art gallery is a nice choice). Venus energy is most capable of bringing in the partner of your dreams. If you are married or already have a partner in your life, then you will most likely notice the sweetness and romance this transit brings into your life. Oh, Harmony & Balance are knocking on your door right now…….go ahead, answer the door, embrace the ease. Enjoy this beautiful transit from now until Oct. 29th when Venus will enter into Scorpio.

New Moon - September 27th- New Moon-Virgo - 9 degrees
The New Moon falls at 9 degrees of Virgo. Virgo is ruled by the planet Mercury, and is an Earth sign. Virgo is practical, analytical and has a need to organize their surroundings. This is the sign that probably coined the phrase “a place for everything and everything in its place”. If you want to know about quality, ask a Virgo, they have a keen eye for detail and quality. New moons are good times for making changes in our routines. What is it that you would like to change in your everyday routine? Virgo’s influence has to do with health and our daily routine. What is it about your health and everyday routine that needs to be looked at closely? The Moon’s presence here says, you “feel it” before you “think it”. What do you feel needs to be changed daily? What areas need to be addressed concerning your health? It’s time to make your New Moon list of what you would like to change in your life. You may find yourself getting very detailed with your list. Mercury’s presence near the moon here, says you will give much thought to this. Happy New Moon!

Aug. 29, 2011 - New Moon – 11 degrees Leo - Aug. 30, 2011- Jupiter turns retrograde
This new moon falls in the constellation of Leo. The nakshatra for this new moon is called, “Magha”. Magha means “the mighty one” or “the great”. Ambition, leadership and power are some of the ways Magha expresses itself. The ruling planet for Magha is Ketu, the Sun’s rulership here can result in a spiritual leader. Magha gives prosperity, power and victory with the masses. They have a love and honor for educators and spiritual people. This is a good time for taking action, stepping out of the box at this time is supported. Storing up food reserves and fire prevention are advised during this time. It is also a good time to learn music and dance. New moons are powerful for planting seeds of creativity. If you have been having thoughts or nurturing an idea, now is the time to begin to work towards that goal. On August 30th, Jupiter the planet of luck and fortune will turn retrograde. Jupiter also has rulership over religion, philosophy and spiritual affairs. It is the “karaka” or indicator in the females chart of her mate or spouse. Jupiter retrograde is good for spiritual growth. It is a good time to review any spiritual knowledge we have gained from the past. Lessons from the past may come to us again, opportunities to learn that which we have not or did not learn before. Meditation will greatly benefit everyone during this time. Meditation is the mother of all spiritual disciplines. Jupiter retrograde could put you in touch with someone from your past. It is a good time to turn our attention inward, focus on the messages you are receiving. Jupiter is the planet of wisdom, the knowing you have that does not come from any outside source, it comes from the divine. The Universe is working on your behalf to support you. What are you doing to support The Universe? Jupiter will turn direct on December 24, 2011.

Aug. 26, 2011
Mercury goes direct today. All communications and projects will move forward.

Mercury Retrograde – Aug. 3, 2011
Mercury will turn retrograde on Wednesday. We are officially in the “applying” stage of this retrograde cycle. Mercury, the winged messenger is in charge of all communications. Think computers, airplanes, written and spoken words, publishing, news, basically all things technology driven and communications in general. Gemini’s and Virgo’s should prepare themselves for challenges over the next few weeks. Gemini’s should watch for miscommunications with siblings, and overall speech. They need to take extra care in short distance travel and commuting. More thought and care should be put into their communication with everyone in general. For Virgo, the first part of this Mercury retrograde could find you looking for most anything that you have misplaced. As Mercury goes “gandanta”, the point where a planet moves out of fire sign into a water sign, considered to be most unfavorable and dangerous. Virgo’s could suffer some loss of a friend or friends. Matters around home could become strained. The cause for this will be a misunderstanding that involves their communications. Mercury is known to be fickle and vacillates, it’s changeable and somewhat of a trickster. It can intensify a nervous energy. Translate that into communication and you have a recipe for some big misunderstandings! As always the best use of this retrograde cycle is for reviewing, reassessing. Perhaps there is a lesson that we did not learn the last go round. Mercury retrograde is an opportunity for all signs to take another look at how we communicate and interact with each other. By now, many of us are understanding that the lessons we refuse to get, what we resist, persist. The Universe has a way of bringing us to the threshold. What we do with that is up to us. This Mercury retrograde takes its toll on the signs it rules; Gemini and Virgo in an intense way during this cycle. However, no sign will escape the frustration and intensity that Mercury retrograde can cause. The best way to deal with this period is to take a little extra time and thought in our communicating. Before you respond to someone’s angry outburst or inappropriate response, take a moment, breathe deeply, think about what you are going to say. Reread that email before you hit the “send” button. Every word we say and write has a vibration and energy connected with it. Once said, once communicated it goes out into the universe. What are you sending out? The energy we put out there has a way of returning to us. Mercury goes direct Aug. 26th.

New Moon - July 30, 2011
The new moon falls at 12 degrees in the constellation of Cancer. The nakshatra for this new moon is Pushya. It’s power is to create spiritual energy. This is an excellent placement for worship and focusing on your spiritual practice. Pushya means “to nourish”. The symbol for this nakshatra is the udder of a cow. The sign of Cancer is ruled by the moon, the moon represents nurturing or the nourishing we receive. This nakshatra is considered to be auspicious for spiritual maturity. Dharma is the primary motivation for this nakshatra. Dharma is our sense of purpose, the spirit inside that moves us. Everyone is unique and is here to share their talents and gifts. New moons provide us the opportunity to go inside and truly see ourselves. What needs nourishing now in our lives? Are we living our life purpose? If we are, this new moon will assist you in moving forward. If you are not living your life purpose, now is the time to look at what truly inspires you. Identify your strengths and resources. If you have been keeping a new moon journal, look back on your entries. Most likely, there are insights from past journal entries that will help you. Like our Mother Earth, everyone on the planet is going through a metamorphisis. There is great opportunity around us every minute, if we have eyes to see. Are we taking advantage of the opportunity? Are we listening to the our inner guide?
May this new moon be the time you discover your personal mission. Mother Earth is waiting …….
“For, each soul enters with a mission………We all have a mission to perform.”
Edgar Cayce

Cancer Rising Personality Traits- July 21, 2011

Uranus goes Retrograde- Planet of Unexpected Happenings! - July 9th 2011
Uranus, a slow moving outer planet has just recently turned retrograde July 9th. When Uranus was discovered in 1781, the use of electricity and other inventions such as the cotton gin were beginning. These inventions certainly improved and affected many people’s lives during this time. The outer planets like Uranus, Neptune and Pluto move slowly over time. Uranus spends 7 years in one sign. Currently, it is transiting through the sign of Pisces. Where Uranus is in your chart is most certainly where you are rebellious. Eccentric and erratic behavior are the norm for this planet. In other words you can expect the unexpected. Uranus energy is one of lightening bolts, this can mean the actual kind of lightening bolt or an idea that comes into your consciousness and goes just as quickly. I call that a “download” of an idea. The energy strikes quickly and is easy to forget. Uranus is “the” planet for inventions and inventiveness. Where ever this planet is in your chart, you are inventive and eccentric. The retrograde period is good for revisiting past ideas. We will see some great inventions come about during this time. Chances are many of them may have been on the back burner somewhere for awhile only to be dusted off, revisited and resurrected. Grab your notebook and make note of any unusual ideas you have during this time. Oh, and Uranus rules over computers, airplanes and my personal favorite; astrology! Uranus goes direct Dec. 10, 2011.

Partial Solar Eclipse - July 1st 2011
This eclipse falls at 14 degrees of Gemini in the nakshatra of Ardra. Ardra means “the moist one” and is associated with the teardrop. This indicates there is sadness or a sense of loss that is felt. Eclipses are harbingers of change. In most cases change is not something we are comfortable with. And so it is that many times, change is forced upon us. If you have planets at or near this degree point in your chart, it will most certainly affect you. The house location will tell you what area of your life will be affected.

Gemini Personality Traits 2011

Lunar Eclipse - June 16th 2011
The solar eclipse occurred on June 1st in the sign of Taurus. Now, the lunar eclipse is following 2 weeks later and will fall in the sign of Scorpio. If your rising sign is in Scorpio or you have planets in this sign, you will most definitely feel this eclipse. Eclipses in general are harbingers of change. The changes usually have a ripple effect and can last up to a year. Solar eclipses usually bring things out into the open, something that has been hidden up to now. They affect us in an outward way. Solar energy has to do with our reputation, our status in life. Rewind, back a couple of weeks ago and Arnold Schwarzeneggar was making headline news for fathering a child with the household maid. This was followed in the news with Anthony Weiner the Congressman from New York who sent inappropriate pictures to numerous women and also a 17 year old girl. The solar eclipse certainly has affected the career and professional status of these 2 men. Their lives will never ever be the same again. This lunar eclipse is falling at 29 degrees of Scorpio. The moon in Scorpio is debilitated or considered to be weak. Scorpio being a water sign “feels” on an intense level. The moon or lunar energy may bring up feelings or emotions that are overwhelming. Knowing what is ahead and understanding the energy that the eclipses bring makes dealing with them somewhat easier. So be ready for some emotional intensity and check out that beautiful moon tonight.

Saturn - Gold and Winning in Life - June 13th 2011
Saturn goes Direct! June 13, 2011 Saturn the planet known to cause frustration, anxiety, loneliness, fear, delay and disappointment is going direct. Well, exactly what does that mean? Saturn has been retrograde since January 26th of this year. When a planet goes retrograde its energy is best used for reviewing and reassessing. Great! Now we are through that. Wait a second, not so fast Saturn would say. Before Saturn turns direct today let’s take a few moments to review what it has been trying to tell us. The feeling of frustration is probably one of Saturn's biggest lessons. Saturn is a slow planet and its energy is subtle and works as a constant nagging. The message is sometimes an internal whisper other times it can feel like a scream, but one thing is for certain it’s not going anywhere until we address it. This can be most unpleasant if we are unwilling to be honest with ourselves. Most of the time we are too busy to pay attention to these subtle feelings, but there is “gold in them there hills." Yes, that’s right, there is an important message or lesson that Saturn has been trying to teach us. Frustration is a feeling that says something is not working right. Usually, the frustration for us comes from doing “something” over and over and not getting the result we want or there is no satisfaction in it for us. (Hint, a job that is depleting our energy and is not in alignment with our gifts.) Here is the opportunity that Saturn offers us. Take a close look at the frustration. What is causing it? Where is it coming from? Saturn is the planet that is associated with our dharma, our life purpose. Chances are that nagging has something to do with your gifts, the ones you either have not uncovered or the ones you know about but have put on hold while you are busy living. (Note: Saturn deals with our fears). In the past months while Saturn has been retrograde it has been giving us that chance to review our life purpose. Were you paying attention? What did you find out? The energy of Saturn is not for the faint hearted. The energy of Saturn takes courage. The courage to be introspective, looking at ourselves honestly. The answer for some is walking into the fear. Reaching for the inner gold that exists within us. As I write this article I am watching Dirk Nowitzki, who obviously has a strong Saturn in his chart. Dirk is the MVP of the Dallas Mavericks, as of last night. The Dallas Mavericks won the NBA Championship. This honor was long awaited for him (Saturn is also known as Father Time) and he has lived through past disappointments of losing the NBA Championship. His faith in himself may have wavered, but he kept on doing the necessary work to see his goal come to fruition. Saturn presents us with obstacles, delays, disappointments but Saturn does not deny us…..that is if we are willing to do the hard work. Saturn will deposit the reward AFTER and only AFTER you have done the hard work. Evidence seen when Dirk held the much desired NBA trophy last night. A long awaited reward for one who kept going (Saturn is all about focus and discipline) even when the sports experts said he wouldn’t be able to pull it out.
As Saturn goes direct today, take a moment to reflect on the planet known as the “taskmaster”. Saturns energy is not an easy energy to learn to work with, but if you try you might be astounded at what happens. A chance to hold your own gold.

Venus - Goddess of Love & Beauty - June 5th 2011
Most everyone familiar with astrology knows that Venus represents love. Just saying the word Venus we get a visual on a beautiful Goddess. On Sunday, June 5th Venus will enter into a sign she is very comfortable in; a sign she has rulership over, Taurus. Venus in the male’s chart will describe his love interest, his mate or spouse. In the female’s chart, it will describe who and what she loves, the manner in which she shows that love. But not her mate, that is Jupiter’s territory. Venus in Taurus is ready to enjoy fine foods, nice restaurants, shopping for beautiful clothes, visiting art galleries, beautifying herself and pursuing a partner. When Venus tours her own sign, we have a heightened sense of beauty. And beauty as they say, is in the eye of the beholder. So for the next 25 days, it is time to appreciate all the beauty you have in your life. Venus has the ability to bring to her what she desires. Enjoy this transit through June 30th.

June 1st 2011 - New Moon & Solar Eclipse
June 1st new moon is a solar eclipse falling at 17 degrees in the sign of Taurus. The nakshatra for this new moon is Rohini. The Moon is in its mulatrikona sign here, giving it added strength. This is a growth producing nakshatra. As all new moons are opportunities this one is certainly powerful for growth and creation. Taurus is an earth sign, the Bull is obstinate and stubborn. Taurus sign is fixed and concerned with accumulating material wealth. There may be strong sensory desires and issues with possessiveness. This is the negative or shadow side of Rohini. There is also the side of developing spiritual strength and responsibility. Eclipses are powerful times and extremely unpredictable. They usually shine a light on something in our life that has up to now gone unnoticed. If you have planets in the sign of Taurus, at or near 17 degrees this eclipse will affect you. If you are a Taurus or Scorpio ascendant this eclipse will affect you and your relationship. The 1st house (you) or the 7th house (your partner). The solar eclipse will be followed in 2 weeks on June 15th with a lunar eclipse in the sign of Scorpio. There will be more about relationships and relationship issues in the news. Just as we have already seen with Arnold Schwarzenegger. As with all eclipses, affects from them can last for up to a year. The solar eclipse usually has more of an outward effect on us while the lunar eclipse touches us on an emotional level.

Jupiter’s BIG MOVE! - May 8, 2011 - May 17, 2012
Jupiter entered the constellation of Aries today. It has been at home in its own sign of Pisces for the past year. Now, in the fiery sign of Aries it gains quite a lot of energy and momentum. It is time to move ahead with projects and plans. Those lazy, hazy days of past are over. Jupiter, the planet that grants opportunities is fast friends with Aries ruled Mars. You may already feel a new sense of optimism with Jupiter’s energy. This will be a good time for creating new energy sources. Jupiter is transiting through the USA’s fifth house, which deals with speculation. New ideas will come to the forefront pertaining to the use of energy and our natural resources. Technology will continue to expand. Jupiter is the planet of wealth with Mars influence it brings a lot of energy and enthusiasm. It is a good time for education and moving up the ranks. This transit gives the drive you need to get most anything done. Remember, Aries is the sign of start-ups. We will see new business start ups, which will help our countries economy. Science, research and invention should all do well during this time. The negative side of this transit is the opportunity that causes us to over reach, or over expand. Mars is a quick moving independent planet that prefers to get things done. Jupiter loves to do things in a big way and with Mars influence can get carried away. Make sure you have a plan for your finances. It’s o.k. to dream big, that’s what this transit encourages, just keep your feet on the ground and take care not to over extend. Remember to stay true to your values as there will be a tendency to become overly materialistic.
Jyotish David Frawley says, “when Jupiter is with us, all life and the entire universe is with us because he is that cosmic beneficence.” I think of this transit as a sort of bank account with all our personal resources at our fingertips, it is upto us to use them wisely and judiciously. Jupiter would want that.

The Moon's Nodes - Rahu & Ketu - May 2011

Rahu & Ketu make a BIG MOVE! May 3, 2011
Rahu and Ketu, the Karmic nodes will make their move on Tuesday, May 3, 2011. Hindu mythology speaks of Rahu as the Dragon’s Head and Ketu as the Dragon’s tail. The head in a sense represents the future and the tail the past. At this very moment they are completing their transit through Sagittarius and Gemini. Rahu will begin it’s transit into Scorpio and Ketu will begin moving into Taurus. Referred to as the “moon’s nodes”, they are not planets but an imaginary point in the sky. These are the signs where the eclipses will fall. Eclipses in ancient times were more often associated with bad news than good. Rahu and Ketu are said to be able to swallow the Sun and the Moon. The Sun is the self, the soul of man, or our inner light. The Moon is our “mind”. When Rahu or Ketu come in to contact by transit or aspect with any planets it enhances, or magnifies that planet. For the past year and a half Rahu and Ketu have transited through Sagittarius and Gemini, if either of these have been your rising signs, you have undergone a personal change and a change in your partner relationship. Maybe someone new has entered your life, maybe you have ended a relationship or maybe someone from your past has re-entered your life. If during this time there have been other planets in the signs of Sagittarius and Gemini, whatever houses they are associated with would have also seen change. The good news for Sagittarius and Gemini is that you may be able to feel relief, because the nodes are leaving and you have made it through these changes. Now, it is Scorpio and Taurus’s turn to go through the relationship roller coaster! If you are Scorpio or Taurus rising, you will begin to experience changes in yourself and your partner or partner relationships. Rahu in Scorpio is more interested in developing their own personal power, in doing so it may cause unusual behavior. Mars energy comes into play and can cause things to get heated up. Mars, is the planet most associated with accidents. Scorpios will have the energy they need. Just remember to use it wisely, cautiously and judiciously.
Rahu is associated with insatiable worldly desires, compulsive and unconsious behavior, addictions, bad habits, phobias. Here in Scorpio’s sign, addictions may remain hidden, deception is right at home. If Rahu is then associated with worldly desires, Ketu brings us the detachment from worldly desires. Ketu is always opposite Rahu and will be moving into Taurus, a Venus ruled sign. Ketu is our sense of “knowing”. It is more about our natural wisdom and ability to discern. It is also connected to healing and spirituality. If you are Taurus rising, Ketu here can make you feel invisible. This transit can give many ups and downs in relationships, it can cause breakups or separations from the one you love. Ketu sometimes acts as a vapor, causing us to lose without a clear explanation or understanding of the situation. But Ketu also spiritualizes and so will give you an interest in those things of a spiritual nature. Taurus rising will have Rahu transiting through its 7th house which will cause disturbance with the spouse or partner. The partner may be domineering. This transit causes things of an unusual nature to happen, a sort of interference with harmony of our relationship. If you are unattached, it can bring a powerful person into your life. This person will have a strong desire nature.
Rahu and Ketu will be transiting through the signs of Scorpio and Taurus until January 18, 2013

Mercury goes Direct! - April 23, 2011
Today Mercury will go direct! This Mercury retrograde period has been extremely challenging. All the energy that is transiting through the sign of Pisces has given a combination of confusion and mixed signals. It’s been a good time to be lazy. Mercury retrograde is well-known for its ability to cause disruption in all matters of communication. What you said is not what you meant to say…..somehow it was misunderstood or misinterpreted. But on another level, what information did you glean? The cosmos offers this time for you to re-think, review, revisit all the information that has been gathered to you over the past several months. So, just before it goes direct and moving in forward motion, THINK, about the past three weeks. What happened that gave you additional information that will assist you in moving forward? Maybe your intuition nudged you…what did it say? Yes, it’s been stressful and Mercury stationed in direct opposition to Saturn, added another level to the already frustrated energies. Communicating with our partners and co-workers has not been easy. Hesitation, a Saturn influence is not necessarily a bad thing. Hesitation means there is one last thing I need to do to complete the task. Don’t forget that Mercury is the trickster, Did you think it? Dream it? Or intuit it? Ideas, dreams, imagination, plans…..time to move forward. It’s full throttle ahead now!

Taurus - April 21, 2011

Sun enters Aries - April 14, 2011

New Moon - Pisces - April 3, 2011
The new moon falls in Pisces this month. Pisces is a water sign and its symbol is the fish swimming in opposite directions. Currently, there is a lot of planetary energy that is focused on Pisces. With Mars, Uranus, Sun, Moon, Jupiter and Mercury retrograde all transiting through this sign, AND they oppose Saturn. This is no ordinary new moon.
This moon is highly intuitive and sensitive. We are in touch with our feelings and able to express them. However, expressing those feelings may get a bit tricky with Mercury retrograde most of the month of April. And all this energy combined with the planet of communication retrograde, means there will be some volatile communication that is most likely misunderstood in some way. Mars is the planet of energy and action it does not sit on the sidelines, and take cues from anyone. Mars in opposition to Saturn is making for quite a lot of negative energy. Saturn’s energy is restrictive and causes obstacles and delays. Jupiter is optimistic and hopeful, the diplomat of the zodiac. You can see that there is a push-pull battle going on. You may be feeling this energy intensify as Mercury continues to retrograde. Mercury is a planet that acts like a chameleon; it takes on the energy of the planets it is closest to, in this case Jupiter and the Moon.
This transit will likely bring about some unusual news. Projects will be delayed, communication will be confusing. Make the most of this new moon by spending time in nature, listening to music, visit an art gallery or go for a walk in the park, and don’t forget to make your “new moon” list.

Mercury’s 1st Retrograde for 2011 – March 30, 2011
Mercury, planet of communications just entered into the sign of Aries for a short period. It will begin its first retrograde for 2011 on March 30th. It will move all the way back into the sign of Pisces, where it has been transiting since early March. Mercury in Pisces has a more spiritual nature to its thinking. This is Mercury at its most intuitiveness. Retrograde is always an opportunity for us, though it is seldom something we welcome. You may find yourself more interested in music and writing during this time, maybe your creative juices are flowing. This does promote service and aid for humanitarian causes. Mercury retrograde is not the time to purchase computers or any electronics. If you can put off signing any contracts during this time, do so. Any written communications or agreements should be delayed until Mercury goes direct. As usual, retrograde means it’s time to review and revisit past information. Chances are we missed some important message or communication that will benefit us in the future. Gemini’s will experience communication delays and misunderstandings at the office, and for certain in the professional arena. Wait until Mercury goes direct before asking for your raise. Virgo, watch for any miscommunications with your partner, or mate. If you are meeting someone special, make sure you double check the location place and time. Mercury the trickster, loves a good prank.

Venus enters the sign of Aquarius - March 22nd
Venus enters the sign of Aquarius today. Aquarius is the sign of the water-bearer, they are the humanitarians of the zodiac. Venus the planet of love will naturally promote, assist and aid all humanitarian organizations through its transit. Saturn’s rulership of this sign gives Venus a more structured business like attitude towards love and partnership. If you have Venus in Aquarius in your natal chart, you may prefer older more stable partners. You have an appreciation for classical, simple dress.

Full Moon - March 19th

NASA Science News, March’s Super Full Moon: …”On March 19th, a full Moon of rare size and beauty will rise in the east at sunset. It’s a super “perigee moon”–the biggest in almost 20 years.”

Sun Enters Pisces - March 15th

March 6, 2011 - Mercury moves into Pisces
Good News for Gemini & Virgo
Mercury entered the constellation of Pisces today. Mercury is debilitated in Pisces as it is opposite its exaltation point. Debilitation simply means it cannot operate at its strongest, it is weakened. The good news is it gets help and is actually cancelled because Jupiter is transiting Pisces and is in its exaltation, which lifts up or enhances the energy of the planet Mercury. Mercury is the “winged messenger” and in charge of all communications. For Gemini rising this transit of Mercury through Pisces may bring career opportunities. Virgo rising should experience positive communications with their partner.

New Moon- March 4, 2011 – Aquarius
The new moon falls at 19 degrees in the constellation of Aquarius, the sign of the water bearer. Aquarius is the eleventh sign of the natural zodiac. The eleventh house is primarily concerned with groups, organizations, associations and friends. Aquarius is a fixed, air sign ruled by the planet Saturn. The mental process is strong, and so Aquarians are unique and inventive. They can also be rebellious.
They have a strong humanitarian nature. Symbolically, Aquarius is the “water bearer”, water represents the life force from which all things are created. The Sanskrit name for Aquarius is Kumbha, which means pitcher. This word is associated with Kumbhaka which signifies the retention of the breath in yogic practices. These connections of water and breath signify the creativeness of this sign, but also the transformational qualities that are inherent in Aquarians.
This moon is falling in the nakshatra of Shatabhishak, which means “the hundred physicians” or “hundred healers”. People born in this nakshatra will have a strong interest and gifts in healing. Shatabhishak is connected with the opening of the crown chakra, the creative powers associated with the awakening of kundalini.
All new moons are special times to work with our creative energy. New moon journaling is an excellent way to use the creative power of the moon to manifest your highest potential.

Saturn Retrograde - January 26, 2011 - Time to Review Your Life Purpose
My Article made Article of the Week at CyberAstro.com
Saturn will turn retrograde on January 26, 2011. Saturn is currently transiting in the constellation of Virgo. Like the planets movement, Saturn’s effect on us is slow. A subtle and foggy feeling. Those external rings you can see around Saturn represent barriers. We feel as if we are lost in a labyrinth. We may not know what words at times describe this energy. It feels heavy, and restricting, it has most certainly created obstacles and delays. We think we have no time for such, we are in a hurry to receive our good, whatever that represents for us. Saturn, also known as Father Time has nothing BUT time for us. The most notorious of the malefic planets. Serious and disciplined bringer of limitations and obstacles. Significator of death, disease, poverty, separation and old age.
Oh, and let’s not leave out loneliness, Saturn can make one feel as if they are alone on the planet, the only person singled out to make this journey into the abyss. How, you ask can such a planet be concerned with growing us? Saturn represents the inside work we do for growing ourselves. Growing means venturing into the unknown, letting go, shedding of the old to make room for the new. What do we need to let go of? Is it an old belief or attitude? Letting go means making room for the new.
Letting go of the past, means making room for a new and higher purpose in your life. Change? You say? Yes, says Saturn, but I will give you time….time to do the “inside work”, the work of carving away the ideas or beliefs you have held on to which no longer serve your higher good. I will give you time to reflect, review reassess your spiritual path. I will give you the concentration, the discipline, the focus you need to find your true light. Once you do the hard work, truly do the hard work, I will reward you with the gold, that is the light within you, that spark of the divine that you are here to share.
Saturn will go direct on June 13, 2011.
